The Irish Women’s Network is delighted to confirm that we have been awarded another grant from the Irish Government, through their Emigrant Support Program. This will allow us to continue our networking events which are proving very popular and feedback from our previous events show they are extremely useful to those attending. Aimed at new and recent arrivals in Vancouver the events are open to all to attend.  We are pleased to announce that the date of our next networking event is Saturday November 17th, and will include information on jobs, resumes, visas, etc. Details will be available on our Events page shortly, as well as on the Irish in Vancouver Facebook page.

One important part of the networking events is the attendance of established members of the Irish community.  These members help welcome the newcomers and are matched up with new arrivals who might have similar professions or work experience to share with them some tips on working in BC in their chosen field.  If you are interested in being part of this, we are always looking for people to attend.  Contact us by email if you are willing to help.  You don't need to be able to provide jobs - just information and support.

Cathy Murphy from the Irish Canadian Immigration Centre will be in Vancouver on Thursday September 20th.  Cathy is available to meet with individuals from 6 PM onwards at Ceilis Kitsilano (Burrard and 7th).  No appointments necessary.  Cathy can provide information on immigration and permanent residency, work permits, the IEC, and more.

Its also an opportunity to meet members of the local Irish organizations and other newcomers.  For more info and to let us know you are coming, go to: https://www.facebook.com/events/408879359166781/

Hope to see you there.
