Are you a new arrival to Vancouver?  The next information and networking event, hosted by the IWN and funded through the Irish Government's Emigrant Support Program, will take place downtown at BCIT at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.  More information will be available through the local community websites and facebook pages.

We regret to inform you that the Afternoon Tea planned for next Sunday, April 28 has been cancelled, due to the low number of reservations received.

We are sorry to disappoint those who were keen to come but we cannot go ahead with the low number of reservations received to date.  We will be in touch with those who registered through paypal and will be sending you a cheque for a full refund.

Our parade number is 30 and entrance is D, Howe and Drake. Section D (From southwest corner of Howe at Drake Street along west side lane to centre of Granville Street Bridge).

See you there at 10:30 a.m. for 11:00 a.m. start.

We will be walking in the Parade again this year and all are welcome to join us.  We walk behind the IWN banner and hand out candy to kids along the parade route.  So pull out your green garb, we will give you a green/white/orange boa and join us for a fun saunter in downtown Vancouver.

The Parade starts at 11 and we need to gather at the designated parade position by 10:30 a.m. Some of us gather beforehand for breakfast at the White Spot at 9:30 a.m. and you are welcome to join us -reservations are vital so contact us at irishwomensnetwork@gmail.com.  We will post the designated parade position closer to the day here and on our facebook page.

Then join us at 1 p.m. for some great traditional music, provided by our own Ita Kane-Wilson and her husband, Cameron Wilson.  A great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Congratulations to Adrienne Sutherland who was presented with the Irish Women's Network Woman of the Year Award for 2013 at the Nollaig na mBan lunch on Sunday 6th January.

For more details go to the IWN Woman of the Year page.

A big thank you to Deirdre Shelley O'Ruairc for coordinating the very successful Nollaig na mBan lunch at Hazelmere. Over 50 women attended the event, enjoyed the food and chat, and celebrated with Adrienne Sutherland as she was announced as 2013 IWN Woman of the Year.
